When most videogame journalists have to write something about the Assassin’s Creed series, they usually make a reference to stabbing people in the face…and today is no different. Yes, it’s only a couple of weeks until gamers will get the opportunity to give the Templars a few more holes in their head. To get gamers excited for the release of Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, Ubisoft has released three videos to show off some of the new gameplay features.
As it says in the first video, the assassin’s of the Ottoman empire have their own way of doing things. The videos show off three different aspects of the singleplayer gameplay. The first video introduces the hook blade which is a hook…with a blade! Yes, the hook blade will allow Ezio to swing on hanging lanterns and to use zip lines, but can also be used to rip out the enemies’ throat. It wouldn’t be Assassin’s Creed without some visceral throat-tearing. The next video shows off the different bombs Ezio will have access to. There are coin bombs to distract citizens, splinter bombs to kill enemies, trip mine bombs, and more. As opposed to previous titles, Ezio can make the bombs himself by finding ingredients around the city. The last video features the new “den defence,” which is tower defense style gameplay. The player puts an assassin leader on a rooftop and then can place units along the roof within a certain distance. Waves of Templars will run by on the streets below and it is up to the player to stop them from making it through. Check out the videos below and stick with PlayStation LifeStyle as we bring you more videos for Assassin’s Creed as they are released.
