Dark Souls Collector’s Edition Delivers Agony; Namco Bandai Releases Statement

You may be one of the many who pre-ordered Dark Souls before it shipped earlier in the week, not only because you were excited for the game, but because the pre-order incentive was enticing; a free upgrade to the Collector’s Edition is nothing to scoff at. However, you may also be one of the many who have experienced difficulty accessing the additional content outside of the physical art book. From Software has now commented on the issue.

Namco Bandai has published a statement on their Facebook account which apologizes for the issues with downloading Dark Souls Collector’s Edition content. See below:

We’d like to thank all our fans for making Dark Souls the successful game that is it! The overwhelming responses we’ve gotten from you guys have been incredible. The high volume of traffic and demand may have caused some difficulties in downloading the digital content from our website. However, we will make sure all those with the collector’s edition will receive their downloadable content! Thanks again for all your support!

Many users have complained about not being able to access the mini-guide, which includes the first 43 pages of the full version’s 382 pages. If you’re stuck in the game, you’re not alone, and you might have better luck posting questions on our forums.
