Disgaea 3: Return Confirmed, Vita Preps for Item World

It is official, the rumored release of Disgaea 3: Return on the PlayStation Vita has been confirmed in the latest issue of Dengeki PlayStation. The game will be a port of the PS3 version, with improvements that include close-up character portraits, four new scenarios, two new characters, and all the DLC from the PS3 release. But don’t stop reading here, the game will be playable at an upcoming event and the magazine Dengeki gave more information, so read on below.

Dengeki has confirmed that Disgaea 3: Return will be a playable game at this year’s Tokyo Game Show. The four new scenarios talked about earlier will take place after you complete the main storyline and they focus on specific characters.

The magazine talked to Nippon Ichi CEO Sohei Niikawa, who said the new scenarios are the reason to own the game on Vita. He went on to say that the last scenario is so long that you could actually say there are five new scenarios. Niikawa also revealed that there might be additional Vita-only features, saying that Nippon Ichi wanted to make use of touch functionality and positional information. Lastly, he revealed that load times on the Vita might be faster due to the system’s better memory management.

This is some great news and we can only hope that this makes it’s way to Western audiences.  The response received for Disgaea 3: Return will be used to determine what type of Vita games the developer should make moving forward.
