Metal Gear Solid HD Collection Rebels with a $49.99 Price Tag

During Konami’s press conference this year, they made the thrilling announcement that a Metal Gear Solid collection is in the works. It was revealed that the collection will include not only Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3, but also the PSP blockbuster, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. Since collections in the past, such as God of War Collection and The Sly Collection, were offered in North America for only $39.99 MSRP, it was only natural to assume that this would be the same case for MGS. Unfortunately, we were wrong.

Gamestop has opened up pre-orders for the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, and to our surprise it has been listed with a price tag of $49.99. If you can’t believe it, see for yourself:

Although this package will be slightly more expensive than we anticipated, it’s still worth it to many of us. Metal Gear Solid 3 is one of the greatest games of all-time (and one of the most touching too), and Peace Walker is a quality title that has been overlooked by many due to being on a different platform. If any collection could get away with rebelling, this would be the one to do it.

We loved what we experienced from this collection at E3, and you can read our Metal Gear Solid HD Collection impressions article to find out more. Also, the box art for the collection was released not long ago, so be sure to check that out as well.
