Dynasty Warriors 7 Hacks Impressive Debut Numbers

Tecmo Koei and the Dynasty Warriors series of games prove that if it ain’t broken, don’t fix it. The latest entry in the series, Dynasty Warriors 7 released in Japan this past week and shot to number one on the charts, moving 253,090 copies of the game on PlayStation 3. This wasn’t the only Tecmo Koei game in the top 20 as Samurai Warriors 3 Z managed 6,568 for the 16th spot on the list.

Other hard hitters in the top 20 for Sony’s platforms were:

2nd – Dissidia: 012 Final Fantasy [PSP] (64,996)

4th – Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Kenyaku Romantan [PSP] (24,344)

6th – Phantasy Star Portable 2: Infinity [PSP] (20,844)

7th – SD Gundam G Generation: World [PSP] (20,410)

8th – Monster Hunter Freedom 3 [PSP] (18,544)

9th – Fairy Tail: Portable Guild 2 [PSP] (18,134)

10th – Way of the Samurai 4 [PS3] (17,143)

19th – Disgaea 4 [PS3] (5,769)

As always, most of these great numbers were on the PlayStation Portable but still great numbers overall and amazing to see Monster Hunter still staying strong and coming very close to 5 million sold in Japan.
