Movement and Defense Coming Soon to PlayStation Plus

PlayStation Plus content is set to be updated soon, bringing shooter fans a new beta, along with a couple of free games and some great discounts.

Pull out those Move controllers and do some stretches. PlayStation Plus is bringing in two new Move enabled games to play, and both have been highly anticipated for a while. First up is the SOCOM 4: U.S. Navy SEALs beta, and it’s officially confirmed to be available to all PS Plus subscribers on March 22. Accompanying it will be the third person action game PlayStation Move Heroes, which will be made available as an hour long free trial on the same day. A small demo of the motion centric game is already available, but if you’re still on the fence about it the trial should give a better look at which side to jump on.

A week later, on March 29th four free games, Comet Crash, Vector TD, A Space Shooter for 2 Bucks! and Oddworld: Abe’s Exoddus will arrive as well. Comet Crash is a tower defense game that mixes things up by giving bases to the enemies you are trying to halt. Striking a balance between taking their base down, as well as stopping troops from reaching their goal, requires slightly different strategy than in most tower defense games. Vector TD is another tower defense game, this time in mini form, which released early last year. Both received good reviews, and serve as a good introduction to the tower defense genre for any pour souls who have missed out until now.

A Space Shooter for 2 Bucks! is pretty self explanatory, but if you haven’t played Oddworld then now is your chance to experience a personal favorite from the PlayStation Classics. Join Abe, the alien slave on a quest to escape Rupture Farms meat packing plant, and save his fellow Mudokons from becoming meat popsicles for their cruel masters.

Another free hour long game trial also joins us on the 29th, this time in the drift happy form of Split/Second, the incredibly destructive racing game that’s just flat out fun.

What would PS+ be without some discounts and themes too? It’d just be a whole bunch of free games! Here’s the list for the upcoming two weeks of sales and deals to be had:

It’s also important to note that new freebies going up means last month’s freebies are going down. On the 22nd all the Player’s Choice sales are coming down. On the 29th all of last month’s free games and themes come down, along with the MAG demo, so grab those if you haven’t already. When those disappear, the special promotional offer granting an extra three months for a one year PlayStation Plus subscriptions also comes to an end. If you’ve still been debating on getting PS+, now looks like the time to do it. You can quickly grab all of last month’s free games, and in the coming weeks grab a bunch more.
