In what is definitely a move to counter Shaun White’s recent announcement that his next game will feature skateboarding, the next Tony Hawk game, Shred, will feature both of the action sports. Yup, you read that correctly. A Tony Hawk game… featuring snowboarding.
This news comes straight from an Activision investor conference call. The title will make do with the same peripheral that shipped with the last Tony Hawk game, Ride, but feature tighter, more updated controls. Integrating snowboarding into the Tony Hawk skateboarding formula is certainly a ‘hail mary’, considering the series has gone down in quality for quite some time now. Only time will tell whether or not this move saves the oft-forgotten series. Pricing is yet to be announced.
