Modnation Racers Demo Racing to PSP’s Soon

Ever since being announced at E3 2009, gamers around the world are watching with envious eyes every  trailer, screenshot, preview and impressions they can read about Modnation Racers. This newest title, from the brilliant minds over at United Front Games, is drawing a strong following, for their simple, yet very LittleBigPlanet-inspired approach to gameplay: “Play, Create, Share”. With their recent, limited PSP beta, gamers who didn’t get a chance to play the game yet, are anxiously awaiting the May 25th release date. To cure their rampant anticipation, Sony has announced a demo for the game, that is coming out sooner than expected.

The demo will be hitting the PSP Store on May 11th. That is just two weeks before the game’s release. Included within the demo are a few maps, karts, and a sneak peek at the game’s bread and butter: the track editor. We could try and explain what is included, but we think Vernon Mollette, a Producer at SCEA’s San Diego Studio, says it best:

To start you off we dropped in eight Elite and Pre-made Mods and their karts to light up a couple of new tracks, including Lost Temple and Flaming Jumps. Both tracks provide all the opportunities you need for Big Air, Long Smooth Drifts, and lots of weapons to keep the action hot!

Again, with all of your comments about our Track Studio, we had to give you a little taste of creative freedom in our Alpine theme. With so many options for making each track unique and all your own, and so many track parts available we had to limit it in this specific demo, but we think you’ll really get the idea on all the possibilities available in the full version.

Modnation Racers is definitely exciting us here at PlayStation LifeStyle. What about you? Will you be purchasing the PSP or the PS3 version? Post your responses in the comments section below.
