Transformers: War For Cybertron Aiming to Outdo Its Movie Counterpart

High Moon Studios’ Transformers video game, Transformers: War for Cybertron, looks to take the video game series away from movie tie-ins and deliver a experience like never before.

XBW claims that Transformers: War for Cybertron will be a hit, and the Decepticons and Auto-bots look better within the game than they do from the movies. The website had a hands-on time with the game, and had this to say:

Each Transformer has a brace of special abilities, one a ‘cooldown’ speciality (such as a gun turret that needs to recharge) and one a resource you can call on.

While we’re yet to discover what they are, the demo we played had us using Optimus Prime’s ‘war cry’ ability, which boosted the power of our teammates, medical mech Ratchet and banana-coloured boy-‘bot Bumblebee.

It’s details such as this that point to War for Cybertron being more than just another cash-in.

Transformers: War For Cybertron will be ‘rollin’ out on June 22nd, 2010. Check out the gameplay details here.
