Sony has just announced that they will be putting, at the very least, a pause on development for their experimental social application for the PSP, the aptly titled Room. Room had been in its closed beta stage for several months in Japan, with little news until now.
The service was essentially an “on the go” version of PlayStation Home with toned down graphics and a younger, more imaginative tone, but apparently never took off. Oddly enough, its “cartoony” feel really seemed to differentiate it from Home, which may have been a nice change of pace, who knows.
We’ll be sure to update you if we hear anything further or if Room development starts back up again.
