Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands Release Update

Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands is set to return the series to the classical gameplay from the previous generation of consoles. Although it was reported to be releasing on May 18th and 20th, Ubisoft may have “updated” the release date slightly. Hit the jump for details.

According to gamekyo.com, Ubisoft has announced that it plans for Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands to hit US shelves on May 21 for the PS3 and Xbox360.  The game will be rewinding back to its roots by allowing players to assume the role of the prince in his brother’s kingdom, after the prince’s return from his adventure in Azad in the first game, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. His brother Malik decides to use the ancient power of the Sand in a desperate gamble to save the kingdom from total annihilation. And yet again, the prince embarks on a trip to save the kingdom. For more details on the game, read here.

This is the second Prince of Persia to debut on the PS3. Whether it will exceed the previous installment, which many found disappointing due to repetition, short game-play and tediousness–we will have to wait and see.

May 28th is the scheduled release of the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time movie, which will not be related to the new game, so no need to hesitate about the quality of the new installment. Here’s a little preview of what you can expect Ubisoft to deliver:
