Infinity Ward’s Development Staff Shrinks More

As if you thought the drama was over at Infinity Ward. Looks like another employee is making an exit from the extremely popular developer. This latest shrinkage of intellectual assets comes from their programming wing.

Jon Shiring, programmer for Infinity Ward announcement via Twitter, his departure and reads as follows:

After almost 6 years at Infinity Ward, I resigned today. I’m incredibly proud of everything we accomplished and I’m going to miss everyone.

Surprisingly enough, the tweet just before that made note of the announcement of Respawn Entertainment. Could Shiring be headed for the new studio? More than likely that would be the case, as he had worked with Respawn founders Jason West and Vince Zampella for six years over at Infinity Ward, and the recent string of resignations would lead us to believe that many of those who’ve worked closely with the pair are looking to restructure and potentially come back even stronger.

It is, however, nice to see that Jon is taking it all in stride, as he does appear to be upbeat regarding his departure.

I just checked with my dog. She is totally in favor of me being unemployed for a bit.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated when we hear anything further regarding the situation.
