GameTrailers TV has been at the center of the gaming universe as of late. Last week’s episode fueled mass excitement when they revealed exclusive gameplay footage of the highly anticipated title, God of War III. Shortly thereafter, the show’s host, Geoff Keighley teased of a major Sony announcement on his twitter account. According the a promo released for this week’s episode, airing Thursday night, we’ll be finding out exactly what Keighley was hinting at.
This week’s episode of GameTrailers TV will feature a world exclusive trailer of a never-before-seen “surprise” Sony sequel. Aside from that, no further details were given. Whether this is destined for the PSP or PS3, is unclear at this time, although it’s likely to be PS3 related considering the hype surrounding this episode.
However, even though details are scant, that shouldn’t stop the speculation! Possible candidates include a new Twisted Metal courtesy of Jaffe’s EatSleepPlay, Lightbox Interactive’s Starhawk, Resistance 3, Motorstorm 3, Killzone 3, or maybe even a new Syphon Filter game. Another possibility is an “Arc” enabled sequel to LittleBigPlanet, following today’s announcement of Sony acquiring Media Molecule.
