Disney Interactive and Black Rock Studios are bringing a destructive racer to the PlayStation 3 with Split/Second: Velocity. This multiplatform racer looks to challenge titles such as Burnout and Need for Speed as the most intense arcade racer of the current generation. Thankfully, some new screenshots have been released which give some insight to the explosive potential of this new IP.
This arcade-styled racer places drivers on the set of a fictional television show, as the racers attempt to destroy competition by activating traps around the track to slow each-other down. Players perform a continuous routine of barbaric driving to fill a power meter which then triggers destructive events such as dropping obstacles from the track on other vehicles. Disney and Black Rock Studio are ambitiously looking to create an intense driving experience with Split/Second: Velocity.
