After Burner Climaxing On The PSN

No, that isn’t a reference to another one of SEGA’s franchises, Bayonetta. After Burner, the classic arcade flight sim, will soon have a prettied-up remix.

As spotted on Siliconera, this week’s issue of Japanese magazine Famitsu has juicy information on this arcade remake. It will debut in Japan sometime this Spring on both the PSN and XBLA, costing 900 Yen ($10 USD)/800 MSP, respectively. The game will sport a new mode called “Climax Mode,” as well as “EX Options” to tweak game settings. The original music from After Burner II will also be available, so those of us who played it in the arcades may feel a wave of nostalgia upon hearing it. No word on an American or European release date or features, but in all likelihood, it is coming our way soon. Take a look at the gallery below!
