Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots celebrates multiple ‘Game of the Year’ Awards
Hideo Kojimas masterpiece was voted as the gaming highlight of 2008
Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH today announced that Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of Patriots, the fourth installment of one of the most popular videogame franchises of all-time, has received multiple gaming awards including accolades such as “Best Action Game”, “Best PLAYSTATION®3 Game”, “Best Graphics”, and the highly coveted, “Game of the Year”, from a variety of gaming media.
Created by legendary video game developer and head of Kojima Productions, Hideo Kojima, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots marks the final installment in the legendary saga of Solid Snake. The originator of the stealth-action genre, the Metal Gear franchise has been around for more than 20 years since its debut in 1987 with Metal Gear for the Nintendo Entertainment system.
Through Kojima’s vision, the award-winning Metal Gear series has been critically beloved and consistently recognized for its new and original game design combined with a story full of plot twists and intricate human drama. Unlike most action games of the time, Metal Gear introduced the element of stealth into the gaming consciousness and seamlessly blended this groundbreaking new mechanic into its intricate plot.
