Transformers Finally Hitting Blu-ray

After waiting so long to get this title, Blu-ray owners will finally be able to pick up Transformers in all its glory on September 2, 2008. Personally, this is a day one purchase for me. I cannot wait to see Bumblebee in full HD. I felt like a little kid all over again when I went and saw this in theatres with my girlfriend. She was kind of embarrassed at how excited I got when the various Autobots started showing up. Then when I could name all of them she just covered her face up with both hands and sighed. Sorry for the mini-rant guys, but if you are from my generation and don’t love Transformers then you don’t have a soul. Anyways, back on topic, the full article from PS3Fanboy is after the jump.

After all the drama with Michael Bay threatening to drop out of Transformers 2 because Transformers wasn’t released on Blu-ray, we thought you guys would like to know the movie is finally coming out on Blu-ray September 2nd. The date was announced a while back, but now we have the box-art and details concerning the release. The box-art looks more or less like the DVD/HD-DVD releases, but Blu-ray will have an additional feature of Dolby TrueHD 5.1 Surround audio that was missing from the HD-DVD release. Other features include audio commentary with Michael Bay, two four-part documentaries, a featurette, still gallery and trailers. It will also be BD-Live-enabled with details to be announced later.
